Maggie Trendell is the Executive Director of Mission Success and a passionate advocate for expanding opportunities for young people. Before joining Mission Success, she worked in Houston ISD supporting students and families through college access and academic programs. Inspired by her own experience overcoming reading challenges with the help of tutoring and mentorship, Maggie is committed to ensuring every student has access to the support, relationships, and opportunities needed to thrive. She believes that when students are surrounded by people who believe in them, they can accomplish far more than they ever imagined.

Alexandra Platt joined Mission Success in 2020 and currently serves as Program Director. Before stepping into her current role, she led the organization’s academic and postsecondary access initiatives, helping students strengthen their academic skills and prepare for competitive high schools and universities. Prior to Mission Success, Alexandra taught high school mathematics in Houston through Teach For America. She earned her degree in Mathematics and Economics from University of Delaware and is passionate about using education, mentorship, and athletics to expand opportunities for underserved youth.

Alejandra Perez joined Mission Success in the summer of 2025 after spending a year volunteering with the organization. Born in Mexico and raised in San Diego, California, Alejandra was a standout student-athlete in the Squash Education Alliance (SEA) member program, Access Youth Academy, where she developed a passion for squash. She went on to attend Cornell University, where she played on the club squash team. Alejandra is also a Level 1 certified coach through US Squash. As an SEA alumna, Alejandra brings a unique understanding of the student-athlete experience and serves as a positive role model for the young people in the program, particularly for girls pursuing opportunities through squash and education.

Coach Mariano joined Mission Success in 2017 as a student-athlete and now serves as the program’s Wellness Coordinator and Assistant Squash Coach. After earning his HVAC certification, he chose to continue coaching because of his passion for mentoring young people and giving back to the community that helped shape him. As a former Mission Success student-athlete, Mariano brings firsthand experience, leadership, and a strong commitment to supporting the next generation through squash training and wellness initiatives that promote healthy habits, confidence, discipline, and teamwork.

Kory Clemens
Development Coordinator

Lane graduated with honors from Gettysburg college in 2025 with a degree in psychology and English. In his previous job he worked as a leadership educator and spent time facilitating groups and helping them develop skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership. As an Academic Program Coordinator, he enjoys challenging the students around him, encouraging them to explore new ideas, and providing a space where they can develop and grow.

Jenifer Morataya serves as an Academic & Access Coordinator at Mission Success, supporting both high school and postsecondary students in achieving their academic, college, and career goals. Prior to joining Mission Success, Jen worked as a college advisor and later held leadership roles focused on student success, educational partnerships, and pathway development. Jenifer earned a Master of Education in School Counseling and is passionate about expanding opportunities and helping students thrive.

Lauren Garcia joined Mission Success as Stewardship Director after first experiencing the organization as both a volunteer and parent. Her son’s participation in both Mission Success programs gave her a firsthand appreciation for the life changing impact the organization has on students and families. A longtime Houston resident and graduate of Texas A&M University, Lauren has served her community through leadership roles with local schools, youth programs, and nonprofit organizations. She previously served as Fund Development Director for the Greater Houston Partnership, where she managed relationships with major donors and corporate partners. Lauren considers it a privilege to work alongside the supporters who make Mission Success possible and help create opportunities for Houston’s youth.

With over 8 years of coaching experience, Coach Zain is a passionate squash professional dedicated to developing junior athletes and promoting lifelong fitness. He is a US Squash Level 1 Certified Coach and has coached at prestigious facilities, including Life Time Athletic, where he spent three years helping players of all ages improve their skills and performance. Currently, he serves as the Squash Director at The Met Athletic Club and has been an active coaching professional for over six years. Coach Zain has also coached with Mission Success for three years and currently supports the program with their high-performance team. He currently teaches PE and Squash at Hogg Middle School, delivering instruction aligned with the IB curriculum and inspiring students through sport and fitness.

Noemi Muñoz joined Mission Success in April 2026 as Executive Assistant, bringing more than 10 years of experience in education and healthcare administration. A Houston native and bilingual professional fluent in English and Spanish, Noemi is passionate about supporting students, families, and the broader community through strong relationships and thoughtful organizational support. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and values faith, family, and community.
